LO1 M1: Comparison of different interactive products.

A webpage is a simple platform which can be found via the web, it is commonly written in  HTML script. Webpages can be used for various things such as the news, forums and social media. An advantage of a webpage is that it is an easy and fast way to search for information, this means that when someone is wanting to know information they can find it easily on a webpage. However, a limitation for webpages is that it's not as easily accessible for an older person compared to someone who is younger because older people are more like to get confused when trying to find a news webpage. In contrast to this apps have become a lot more simpler to use for the older generation since all they have to do is look for the icon on their phones and then they can tap on it and it opens, although there are still limitations to apps and the main being is that some apps have a larger file sizes. This limits the amount of apps people have on their phones or tablets. A lot of webpages aren't portable and will always need an internet connection to be able to access, however some apps allow you to download the content for a small fee a month this can be helpful if you need information and you have no internet connection or even entertainment. Sears et al (2007) found that different sized screens can effect multiple peoples typing speed for example they said "results indicate that novices can type 10 words per minute (WPM) on the smallest keyboard (6.8cm) and 20 WPM on the largest (24.6cm)."  this would show that people who would use a webpage on a tablet would type a lot more faster on a webpage then someone who would type on a smartphone.

Blogs are actually called web logs and are online journals where people can post their thoughts or create content such as stories. These were very popular during the rise of the internet as it allowed people to create their content and leave it open for people to talk about. However, leaving a blog open with comments can always turn into bad things since this can lead to cyber bullying and trolls. They have also been replaced through the years by social media for example twitter, since twitter is mainly a site/app where people can talk about their ideas in a shorter and more efficient way, however it shows that the same thing can also happen on social media and that is still a limitation on both platforms.

Kiosks are fixed interactive screens that can be located in shopping centers, air ports and bus stations etc. Most companies get kiosks because it is an easy way for people to find where shops are in shopping centers such as Medowhall and Frenchgate. They have become less popular due to increase in price and how they have become less convenient amongst costumers due to the fact the shopping center may have developed an app to help costumers navigate through the shopping center. They have also gone up in prices since they were first released, even after a company has bought a kiosk they then need to pay someone to install and this may be for a company that is just starting out in the shopping center business and then put them in debt.

Apps, applications, are a type of software that can be installed and run on a computer, mobile phone and tablet. Most apps have specific and narrow functions such as Google Maps, Deliveroo and BBC News app. These have become very popular in the new age of technology due to them being able to installed on almost all devices. They have also brought up people called, influencers into the world and they have also helped people become something called a prosumer, which is someone who is a consumer and produces content. Although, they are popular amongst young and older people some think they have their limitations such as that they don't load quickly
